View of several men watching others prepare to enter a skiing race in town, showing buildings in behind the men and a gasoline pump. On back of card: Sudbury Ont Sept 8th 1914: Dear Cousins you no doubt think it strange in not hearing from me before. I have been quarantined with dyptheria here at Sudbury, "what do you know about that" I left the Isolation Hospital today and expect to leave for Quebec tonight. The natives here have been very kid to me brining all kinds of nice things to eat and read. I don't believe Germany is ay nicer than here, they gave us great sendoff and most places along the road I seen Tommy H?. at Saskatoon. Addressed to Mirs. J.W.Bateman 55247Ave N.E., Edmonton Alta.
