Abstract
A sepia colored photograph of the Metropolitan Methodist Church. The Knox Presbyterian Church and the Metropolitan Methodist Church were directly in the path of the cyclone of 1912. The Metropolitan Methodist building, was designed by Darling and Pearson and built in 1906 and 1907, was completely demolished by the store. It was rebuilt within a year using a revised design by Francis Portnall and James H. Puntin. By 1951 the two congregations merged to become the United Church of Canada and occupy the Metropolitan building with Knox being demolished. There are houses on either side of the church.
