Abstract
Color lithograph photograph of the Zion Methodist Church. The church was built between 1906-1907. In 1925 it became the Zion United Church of Canada when the Presbyterian, Congregationalist, Methodist and the General Council of Local Union Churches in Canada joined to form the United Church of Canada. The church was modeled after the Zion Methodist church in Winnipeg which was destroyed by fire leaving this church the only remaining church of this particular design in Western Canada. The main features of this Romanesque style are the 5 Doric pillars and the dome. The octagonal central dome and skylight is 38 feet in diameter and 44 feet from floor level. The stained glass center measures 16 feet in diameter.
