Abstract
In this audio recording Jospehine Carriere recalls a memory of a population of caribou crossing train tracks which halted the train she was on. This audio clip is in Cree and the English translation is provided below. "One time, in 1939, I was on a train to Churchill. Suddenly, it stopped and about 300 caribou we had to let them go, because they were just going, going, going,. They were coming from Beaver Lake and on the move to up North. That's a big area and they came from there."
