Abstract
An article detailing the track and field career of Reila Bird, who competed for Team Saskatchewan at the NAIG 1993 in Prince Albert and 1995 in Blaine, MN. Reila talks about her inability to continue her personal journey in track but expresses renewal of her love for the sport through her love of family. She would go on to train her daughter, Juleah Duesing for her time as a Team Saskatchewan runner at the 2014 Games in Regina. At the opening ceremonies they were able to walk in together with the rest of the athletes, thus the theme of family continues at the NAIG for future generations.
