Note
Main Stable was built in 1885. There was originally to have been two built, with a 32 horse capacity in each. However, due to a shortage in materials only one was completed. It was 80'x30' in dimension, with lean-to's added on each end in 1893 to protect bedding from rain, snow and high winds. Water closets which were located too closely to the stable were also moved due to the possible generation of disease. The building was of frame construction with an open roof (as no ceiling was built). A ventilator was added to the centre of the roof in 1886. The walls were covered with clapboard and in 1905 sliding doors were added to both north and south ends. Drainage ditches were dug for the sewage from the barns and one is still visible on the site.
