Note
Barracks #4 - was built in 1884. It is of Red River construction. During the Rebellion while people sought refuge inside the stockade walls, a group of men named the Battleford Rifles, stayed in Barracks #4. Te men had practiced escape manoeuvres to get back inside the stockade walls in case of attack by Poundmaker's tribe. Also, in 1903, the Barr Colonists passed through Battleford on their way to found what is now Lloydminster. Many colonists rested in Barracks on their way through. We only have this one photograph of Barracks #4.
