Abstract
Various views of a municipal streetcar. Included are a front, side and back view. Also, an interior view. See the refurnished seats, and the advertisements can still be seen. On the exhibit sign it says, "Saskatoon Municipal Railway Car #51 This car was built new for the Saskatoon Municipal Railway in 1927 by National Steel Car of Hamilton, Ontario. This double ended streetcar has a steel body, horsehair and rattan transverse seats, and a birch wood trim interior. "Transverse" means the backs of the seats flip over the seat to change the orientation of the seat for travel in the opposite direction. Acquired by the museum in 1994 the interior has been partially reconstructed and the exterior repainted in original SMR colours. Tram 51 operated until 1951 when it was sold to a farmer in Biggar, Saskatchewan and used as a storage building and a summer kitchen."
