Abstract
Letter from A.W. Cameron, principal of Nutana Collegiate, to E. Wyly Grier, artist of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, expressing his delight in hearing that Grier is wanting to "enter into the 'spirit of the game' so to speak" referring to hope of creating a painting that embodies the spirit of youth. Cameron also encloses $250, an initial payment for the commission and painting done by Grier for the Memorial Art Gallery. Finally, he is hoping to gather the personal characteristics of Jack Cairns, a boy of a prominent figure in Saskatoon, who will eventually become the subject of Grier's "The Spirit of Youth."
