Abstract
Letter from Marion Long, a Canadian artist, to A.W. Cameron, principal of Nutana Collegiate, including a photo of the current status of her painting "Pauline," although she doesn't believe it to be representative of the quality of her painting. She speaks of her "appeal" to the idea of having a school girl painting along a riverbank underneath poplar trees. She also speaks of the characteristics of the girl she is painting--"the book on her arm suggests study while in the face I have endeavoured to give the sense of mental alertness and the certain sweetness that belongs to young girls."
